siliXcon: Gas Engine Simulator in an EV Dirt Bike

We are proud of our collaboration with the creator of Engine Simulator, a specialist in simulating combustion engines and generating real-time sound. The goal of this project is to integrate the simulation into the control units of electric motorcycles, delivering the authentic atmosphere of traditional engines to the riding experience.

At siliXcon, we’re constantly seeking innovative solutions to transform the way people ride. Our vision is to combine the advantages of electric motors with the soul and character of combustion engines. Through our work on hardware, software, and physical simulations, we’ve developed technology that bridges the gap between the virtual engine and real-world riding conditions.

This device not only enriches the riding experience but also enables practical applications—such as teaching clutch control on electric motorcycles without risking mechanical damage. This opens up entirely new possibilities in both rider education and the broader adoption of electric mobility.

How the Development Unfolded

We implemented the open-source Engine Simulator into microcontrollers, building a system that replicates engine behavior in a tangible way. The test setup includes a microcontroller, electric motor, speaker for sound, and physical controls like throttle and clutch. This system creates a seamless connection between the simulated and real-world engine, giving electric motorcycles a truly authentic feel.

One exciting application involves using this technology in motorcycle schools. Students can practice clutch control in a safe, cost-effective environment without the risk of wear and tear on mechanical parts.

The Future of Electric Vehicles with Character

Electric motorcycles, often criticized for lacking personality, can now deliver an engaging and authentic experience. Imagine owning an EV capable of emulating legendary engines, from historical classics to modern powerhouses.

This is only the beginning.
At siliXcon, we believe this technology has the potential to redefine electric mobility, offering a blend of tradition and innovation that satisfies even the most passionate combustion engine enthusiasts.
