Controller Firmware

Firmware for siliXcon brushless motor controllers consist of two major part:

  • Motor control algorithm
  • Application

The application is responsible for the whole system behaviour. It transfers inputs to outputs.

The algorithm is responsible for controlling the motor. Protecting the motor, battery, and the controller.

The application and the algorithm is hardware independent. This mean, you can scale your a project without any problem.

Custom Application

It is not possible to have controller with behaviour, that suit to all use-cases. This is why we can provide you completely custom solution.

Scripting

All Brushless Motor Controllers support our scripting language. Using these script you can customise existing application or write your own from ground up.

  • The ECHO firmware operates as a minimal application with no internal logic, providing all IO and motor control functions exclusively through the Driver API.
  • This application is designed for systems where the siliXcon controller acts as a peripheral device controlled by an external VCU via CAN or UART.
  • Users can freely configure the automatic and periodic transmission of status messages regarding the driver's real-time operation.
  • The system offers optional support for the standardized CANopen protocol, which can be activated through a dedicated module.
  • Due to the application's minimal footprint, maximum flash memory remains available for the driver's full suite of advanced features.
  • FALCON is an application for drones, RC cars, and other vehicles, supporting both servo PWM and analog inputs with configurable signal conditioning.
  • The system features voltage, current (torque), and speed closed-loop control modes, including a voltage with freewheel option.
  • For mission-critical applications, it includes an emergency stop with prop docking, position hold, and automatic driver re-initialization.
  • The Quick-setup pad and functional presets for aircraft or cars enable full configuration without the need for additional software tools.
  • The Ignis application enables siliXcon motor controllers to both start an internal combustion engine and generate electrical power in starter-generator systems.
  • The system offers a fully configurable starting sequence, including settings for pullback, cranking, pauses, and retry cycles.
  • The no-load ramp feature ensures a gradual increase in load after engine start to significantly reduce mechanical stress on the system.
  • Integrated overvoltage protection automatically shuts down the system if motor voltage exceeds battery voltage, ensuring operational safety.
  • The firmware includes advanced maintenance tracking features, such as persistent counters for motor operating seconds and start cycles.
  • OPHION is an FW application designed for generic usage with electric motor drives.
  • It can be used in a wide range of applications from a very simple pump control to a complex position servo drive.
  • It is an HW-independent application that can be uploaded to the whole siliXcon's controllers portfolio.
  • It has several predefined control modes which cover a lot of field of operation, which allows very fast deployment.
  • Ophion can also exploit all available motor control modes to enhance its potential even more.
  • LYNX is a universal control system offering off-the-shelf complete solutions for traction systems.
  • It has several configurable logical inputs, which can be used for gathering data from external components (throttle, brake, pas, switches, etc).
  • These signals are processed inside the system and define how the motor reacts, according to the parametrisation of the LYNX.
  • This approach can eliminate a need for a VCU (vehicle control unit) – controller with this FW is capable to process most of the needed signals.
  • It is an HW-independent application that can be uploaded to the whole siliXcon's controllers portfolio.
